JOPLIN, MO.--- If you are planning on looking for a new car, bring some donation goods with you as well. The Joplin Area Agency on Aging picked up a truck load of food at Roper Subaru on Illinois Avenue as part of the "Share the Love" event. The community filled the car with canned food, as well as clothing items. The agency partnered with the car dealership and Meals on Wheels in effort to provide home delivered meal services to people in need.
"It gives us the ability to take more food to the seniors. To help those people that aren't able to get out. Aren't able to get a meal. Not like most of us, can get in a car and drive to a restaurant. They can't, so it helps us to get them food so they can eat," said Stan Heater, Area Agency on Aging CEO.
The "Share the Love" event runs through January 2nd.
