WEBB CITY, MO.--- Owners at an area pizza restaurant are trying to find a cure for cancer, one slice at a time. JJ's Woodfire Pizza in Webb City is raising money for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Throughout October, a dollar of every large specialty pizza sold will go to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The restaurant is also selling pink t-shirts and those proceeds will also go to the foundation.
Owner JJ Spurlin says almost everyone knows someone that's been affected by cancer. "Something near and dear to a few of the employees here. A couple that have people that are survivors. I have survivors in my family. It's a special cause to us."
Owners are also teaming up with the Missouri Southern Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority later this month for a breast cancer fundraiser.
