JOPLIN, MO.--- You are invited to meet members of the Jasper County Sheriff's Office face to face this weekend . The office is hosting a Community Safety Day this Saturday. It's an opportunity for the public to meet with the deputies and Sheriff Randee Kaiser. There will be canine demonstrations, fingerprinting for the kids, and food. It's also an opportunity to ask questions about the Neighborhood Watch Program and community oriented policing project. The sheriff says it's beneficial anytime law enforcement can get together with members of the community.
"Sometimes we have tips that we like to impart with people in the community about general safety tips, and the community also sometimes gives us information about things that they see going on in their community, concerns that they have," said Randee Kaiser, Jasper County Sheriff.
Community Safety Day will be held at the Central City Christian Church parking lot on Saturday from 11:30 to 1 p.m. The event is part of the Community Policing Project in part of western Jasper County.
