JASPER COUNTY, MO.--- Stabilization and rehabilitation projects are underway in Jasper County. Jasper County Commissioner Jim Honey says crews just finished a creek stabilization project on County Road 30 north of Sarcoxie. They are currently working on a bigger project at County Road 270 northeast of Carl Junction on Spring River, and it should be complete by the middle of next month. The projects are being done along with the Natural Resources Conservation Service. Honey says because of flood damage the last few years, there have been river bank stabilization problems upstream from bridges, and these projects will help restore the banks.
"Help us restore what has been damaged due to the flood and ice storms and so forth and problems upstream," said Jim Honey, Jasper County Commissioner.
Also, Honey says Branco Enterprises is beginning to rehabilitate the Cave Springs Bridge which is north of Sarcoxie. He says he met with the company and the landowner yesterday to discuss improvements.
