Irving Elementary Final Preparations

Barring any more inclement weather, Joplin elementary schools will have their grand opening for students and faculty Wednesday morning.
JOPLIN, MO.--- Barring any more inclement weather, Joplin elementary schools will have their grand opening for students and faculty tomorrow morning. Joplin Schools Director of Construction Mike Johnson said they are finishing last minute jobs to get the schools prepared. Johnson said work on the schools will continue tomorrow, but hopes the kids are impressed with their new schools because of all the work that went into them.

"Public that weighed in and architects and contractors and our staff. There have been a lot of hands at work and this is the culmination of that. It has been a giant team effort and we are just happy to be a part at this point," said Mike Johnson, Director of Construction.

Johnson said kids from Irving Elementary helped design the inside of their new school.
