High Speed Chase Leads to Wanted Felon Arrest

A high speed pursuit leads to the arrest of a wanted felon.

BOURBON COUNTY, KS --- 32-year-old Raymond Younce, Jr. of Independence, MO was arrested yesterday afternoon in Bourbon County, KS.

Younce was wanted on a Felony Firearms warrant along with multiple warrants from Kansas and Missouri. He was considered armed and dangerous. Younce was taken into custody after leading several law enforcement officers on a high speed chase.

It started when the Vernon County Sheriff and a Deputy attempted to make a traffic stop on a black Ford truck traveling East on 54 Highway. After pulling into a store parking lot, authorities say the truck took off at a high rate of speed, ultimately leading Police across state lines and into a cornfield where they arrested the driver identified as Younce.

He is being held at the Bourbon County Jail and will be extradited to Vernon County for charges the Sheriff plans to file early next week.
