JOPLIN, MO.--- Many kids will be hitting the streets for Halloween next week and it's important to be safe. Area firefighters are suggesting that kids not wear masks that have small eye holes. They need to be able to clearly see in the dark. Wearing makeup is a safe alternative to a mask. Also, it's suggested that your child wear a colorful costume that stands out in the dark. Give your child a flashlight or make glowsticks part of their costume and wear a flame resistant costume. These tips can help them have a safe and fun Halloween.
