JOPLIN, MO.--- A new Freeman Health System mural makes its debut during an unveiling today. The "Caring Hearts, Healing Hands" picture is hanging in the newly renovated dining area at Freeman Hospital West. Moments within the mural convey the passage of life from birth to death. A portion is also dedicated to the 161 people who died in the May 2011 tornado. Health administrators say it resembles the hospitals role in the community for the past 90 years.
"We are delighted now to have it unveiled where people can come and reflect upon the many representations it contains and really enjoy it everyday," said Paula Baker, Freeman President.
The mural is hanging in the dining area because it's considered the heart of the hospital. Hundreds of people visit the space on a daily basis.
