Former PSU Military Instructor Dies While Serving in Afghanistan

According to initial reports, U.S. Army Sergeant First Class Forrest Robertson died of injuries sustained when his dismounted patrol received rocket-propelled grenade and small arms fire.

PITTSBURG, KS.--- A former Pittsburg State University military instructor dies while serving our country. The Department of Defense confirms U.S. Army Sergeant First Class Forrest Robertson died yesterday in Afghanistan. According to initial reports, Robertson died of injuries sustained when his dismounted patrol received rocket-propelled grenade and small arms fire. He was assigned to Headquarters Troop, 6th Squadron, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division based in Fort Stewart, Georgia. Robertson's wife and three daughters live in Georgia and his mother lives in Wesmoreland, Kansas.
