JOPLIN, MO -- An early morning fire leaves four Joplin families without a home.
The blaze broke out just before 1:30 Saturday morning at 103 North Wall.
Fire crews arrived on scene to find the two story building engulfed in flames.
The home had been converted into four apartments with each apartment occupied a the time of the fire.
All residents but one person were able to get out before emergency responders arrived.
But firemen were able to rescue the individual from a second story apartment using a ladder.
The resident was then transported to Freeman Hospital for injuries.
The structure is a complete loss.
21 Joplin firefighters battled the blaze and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
