DUQUESNE, MO.--- Construction is underway for a new housing complex in Duquesne. Construction crews are moving dirt in prepartion to build a 48 unit duplex at 15th and Katherine. The project is called Katherine Estates and is for the elderly, handicapped, and low-income. The mayor says the addition of the complex to the city is a natural growth for Duquesne.
"That's going to be a good area in there for people to live. It's a good road that goes there that's more than adequate to handle the traffic," said Denny White, Duquesne Mayor.
The complex costs $4 million and is paid for through Missouri Housing Commission tax credits as well as private money.
