Driving to Help Carthage Students Succeed

Drivers get behind the wheel today for a good cause.

CARTHAGE --- Nearly 300 people showed their support for Carthage Middle and High School students during the 2nd Annual Drive 4 UR School. The event is sponsored by Carthage Ford where drivers can test out one of 12 brand new vehicles, no strings attached. The car company donates up to $6,000 to the school; that's $20 per driver. Today's fundraiser will help the Junior High School Student Council buy a new marquis. The High School Student Council will put their funds towards scholarships.

"It's a great way to spend one full day and be able to raise so much money. We do multiple events through the year to raise a little bit at a time so this is a great opportunity for us. It's also great to see your people come out to support you," says Regina Fields, Carthage Junior High Assistant Principal.

Ford's Drive 4 UR School programs have helped raise more than $16 million for schools across the United States.
