A Jasper County couple are found dead late this morning in their home. The Sheriff's Department received the call about the couple just after 11:00 a.m. Jasper County Sheriff, Archie Dunn, says the couple's son was the one who found his parents dead, and called 9-1-1. The Sheriff's Department is investigating this as a double homicide, which took place just west of Carthage off County Road 162 and Mound Street. "Just starting to process and collect evidence, we've got officers from other law enforcement agencies here, we put the Tri-State Major Case Squad on call, just in case it gets to that point where we need to activate them, we're just, we're at the very beginning stages of the investigation," says Archie. As of tonight, there is no motive or suspects to report. Sheriff Dunn expects to hold a press conference in the morning with more information surrounding the case.
