CARTHAGE, MO.--- The organization continued their Weekend Snackpack Program for students attending summer school. Bright Futures helped 60 kids last summer, and this summer that number has grown to 100. The coordinator says some of these kids don't have very much food during the summer months.
"The economy is not so good. Jobs are not out there, and so being able to provide these packs to the kids for the summer is amazing to us," said Sarah Johnson, Carthage Bright Futures Coordinator.
The director says they are running low on food items, and they are always accepting donations.
