JOPLIN, MO.--- "Basically, hanging out in the water. We brought the dogs with us and they're having fun. The kids are just hanging out, and just enjoying ourselves for awhile," said Kelly Walker, Water's Edge Customer.
That's the reaction Water's Edge Campground wants their customers to have during this 4th of July holiday weekend. The 43 acre campground offers lots of ways to have fun in the water.
"Come and rent something from us. Like canoe or kayak or raft or inner-tube. We take them up a few miles and put them in and we tell people that it's a float trip, not a paddle trip or a race or anything. Take your time and enjoy themselves," said Scott Wolfe, Water's Edge Campground Manager
The family friendly environment also offers camping.
"Lots of people take advantage of our tent facilities that we have here. We also offer a very nice tent, which is a cabin that we rent out for $125 a night, and people take advantage of hat as often as they can," said Wolfe.
If floating or camping isn't your thing. You can take a swim in the water for a small fee, like Walker and her family who have plans for 4th of July.
"Well, we're actually staying close to home. We have my 88-year-old mother with us, my boyfriend is home doing yard work. We decided to come down to the creek for a little while and get a little sunshine and water in," said Walker.
Whether you choose to float the six mile trip or swim it, the idea is to have a good and safe time.
