Walk MS Joplin

Event to raise money for people with Multiple Sclerosis
JOPLIN, MO --- People had the chance to dress like their favorite superheroes this morning in Joplin to help find a cure for Multiple Sclerosis.

Walk MS Joplin had an event today at Landreth Park to raise awareness and money for Multiple Sclerosis.  People who participated in the walk had the option of doing a one mile or three mile course.

One volunteer says there are 11,000 people living with Multiple Sclerosis in the Ozarks area.

"Helps people understand that it is a disease that is continuing to devastate many many people in our country and here in Joplin alone," Volunteer Steve Doerr said.  "And this is an effort to help find a cure for MS."

This is the 26th year for the walk in the Ozarks area and the program has raised more than 10 million dollars to support people living with Multiple Sclerosis.
