NEVADA, MO.--- The Vernon County Sheriff's Office calls the Missouri State Highway Patrol Bomb Squad to remove explosives. Last night, Vernon County deputies helped the bomb squad transport explosives from an enclosed container that had been turned over to the sheriff's office. The contents of the container were uncertain, but they were placed in a secured area until the bomb squad could properly dispose of them. The Vernon County sheriff said it was not clear how old the contents were and the sheriff wouldn't comment on where they came from. Deputies say it does not appear at this time any criminal activity or foul play was involved.
