WASHINGTON, D.C. --- Farmers across the United States will be able to receive federal assistance thanks to the efforts of a senator from Kansas. U.S. Senator Jerry Moran announced Friday that the U.S. Department of Agriculture will provide additional assistance to help farmers, ranchers, and residents affected by severe drought. The U.S.D.A. responded to a request from Senator Moran to expedite implementation of the 2014 Farm Bill livestock disaster assistance programs. Representatives with Senator Moran say the U.S.D.A. plans to have those assistance programs available for sign up by April 15th.
