JOPLIN, MO.--- Last week KSN reported about how the Joplin Humane Society barely had a week's supply of canned dog food. They had a recent influx of puppies and older dogs that need the canned food because they can't eat kibble. The viewers stepped up and really delivered. Since that story aired, dozens of cases of canned food have been donated to the shelter. It's estimated that they now have a two month supply on hand.
"People came out in truckloads, coming all day Saturday. Saturday, the lobby was filled with canned food," said Patrick Adams, Joplin Humane Society.
Shelter managers say this is the largest amount of donations they've ever received at one time.
