JOPLIN, MO.-- The annual St. Paul's United Methodist Church rummage sale is currently taking place in Joplin. Members of the church and the Joplin community donated items for the event. Beds, couches, toys, and clothes are all for sale and all proceeds will go towards scholarships for summer youth camp. Youth Pastor Angel Garcia says this fundraiser will help get all the church's 120 kids to camp.
"We believe so strongly in some of the camps that these kids go to and how important they are. That it can just change their life and make such a huge impact in that. That we want them to have that same great experience. And maybe some of them can't necessarily afford it so we try to help them out as much as possible." Angel Garcia, Youth Pastor.
The rummage sale is open until eight o'clock tonight and will run from 8 a.m. to noon tomorrow. The event also features a "trash bag" sale tomorrow, where you can stuff as many items as you want in a trash bag for $5.
