JOPLIN, MO.--- The Olympic games came to a Joplin school today. Students at St. Mary's Elementary School in Joplin converted their gym into an Olympic stadium. Students had a chance to bobsled with scooters and rope. They also did some speed skating with towels under their feet. Students even tried their hand at curling. The students were assigned to watch the Olympics every night on KSN and really have gotten into the games. They also say their teacher is amazing for thinking up the program.
"That's awesome how she thought of that," said Duncan Fogarty, 1st Grade.
"Teaches them that they can do anything," said Margie Black, St. Mary's Physical Education.
The students say they hope they have a similar event with the summer Olympics.
