Southern Loses Heartbreaker in 14th Inning

MSSU and top seed Mankato State went scoreless for 27 half innings before the host Mavericks pushed across a run on a safety squeeze in the bottom of the 14th to win. Lions starting pitcher Brett Abell pitched 11 shutout innings, but the offense could never get on the board.<br><br>MoSo will now play the two seed, MIAA foe Central Missouri, Friday at noon in an elimination game.
