Shriners Hospitals Hosts Screening Clinic in Pittsburg

22 Shriners Hospitals for Children in U.S., Mexico, and Canada
PITTSBURG, KS --- Local children came to Pittsburg today to see if they are eligible to get special pediatric care.

The Shriners Hospital for Children hosted a free screening clinic at the Mirza Shrine Temple.

Shriners Hospital provides care for children 18 and under with genetic hereditary diseases, deformities, and children who have lost limbs.

Mirza Shrine representative Jake Johnson says being able to partner up with this year's Shrine Bowl Game is a great way to get awareness out for children in need.

"It really impacts the lives of children and parents.  We have children coming in today from all over the area, Southeast Kansas," Johnson said.  "And when we're really trying to do some good for them.  We can offer them things that your, your normal hospital can't."

There are currently 22 Shriners Hospitals for Children, all located in the United States, Mexico and Canada.
