PITTSBURG, KS--- Pitt State University is working to build strong leaders. Today they held their Annual Basic Leadership Training Conference at the student center. The conference includes a variety of workshops designed to explore different aspects of leadership. It was planned and organized by Pitt State students in the Presidential Emerging Leaders Program. The topics of discussion included promotion, intercultural communication, resumes, and graduate school.
"Everyone's gonna have those same classes and everyone's gonna have the same GPA, but it's gonna be the leadership skills you develop in college that are really gonna help you land that ultimate job, and so if you can come to a conference like this and learn how to be a better leader, you can present yourself better in interviews and on the workforce, says PSU junior, Elle Walker.
A great deal of the conference is also devoted to servant leadership. Organizers say giving back is at the top of their agenda.
