JOPLIN, MO.--- The Project Homeless Connect event was held today at the Central Christian Center in Joplin. Local vendors like the Missouri Career Center, Vatterott College, and the Salvation Army were on hand to help people experiencing homelessness create connections for a better life.
"It's really rewarding to be able to help them make connections in the community and get services that they need. It's really a neat thing to see changes," said Robin Smith, Assistant Community Development Director for the Homeless Coalition.
Around 50 people attended the event. Homeless Coalition sponsors say the event helps many people find jobs and eventually move into their own homes.
