JOPLIN, MO---A touring band based in Santa Fe, New Mexico called, Polyphony Marimba, performed on 3rd street next to the Spiva Center for the Arts. This 10 person band performs music that originated from Zimbabwe.
Band director Peter Swing says they write their own music but it has roots in Africa. He says, "It's ensemble. It's very upfull, it's very positive, it has a healing quality, um, it brings people together."
The band has been touring the country for almost a month now, and Joplin is one of their last shows before heading back to Santa Fe.
