PITTSBURG, KS.--- The City of Pittsburg will make changes to a local street to accommodate more traffic. That will come with the opening of the new Pittsburg State University Performing Arts Center. Pittsburg Director of Public Works Bill Beasley says the city will widen the east side of Homer Street. The work will allow a turn lane at the intersection of Ford Street. Beasley says the project should cost around $33,000. The goal is to start the project at the beginning of March and it should only take 30 days to complete.
