PITTSBURG, KS.--- International friends of Pittsburg are looking for families to be matched up with international students at Pittsburg State University. Currently, there are 30 PSU international students who are looking to be placed with a host family in the area. Students do not live with the host families, but the goal is to get them involved in family activities and community events. Bob Walter has been a host parent for 14 years. He says it's a chance to learn ways of living in other areas of the world.
"There's no better way to understand different cultures and different people than to interact with them. And the world is getting smaller all the time, and it's such a great opportunity," said Bob Walter, Host Parent.
People interested in being a host to an international student can visit the PSU website and search "host families."
