PITTSBURG, KS.--- Pittsburg State University hoped to satisfy people's sweet tooth with an event at its annual Apple Day Celebration. The school hosted an apple pie and apple dessert contest today. A panel of judges rated each dessert entry by taste and look. The entries were submitted by PSU students and staff. One judge says the opportunity to eat and judge all the desserts was "the best gig on campus."
"Apple Day is a huge event on campus. Having the apple desert pie contest is, it just plays into everything that is going on campus and makes the atmosphere fun," said Jim Hughes, PSU Director of Purchasing.
The university will conclude its Apple Day Celebration tomorrow by having an Apple Day convocation.
