Pittsburg Fire Department Equipment Replacement

The new equipment will allow firefighters to respond faster and safely to emergencies.
PITTSBURG, KS.--- The Pittsburg Fire Department will be spending more than $1 million to replace fire equipment. The city commissioners approved three fire department proposals last night. Fire Chief Mike Simons says the department will purchase a new truck, seven sets of bunker gear, and replace breathing gear and tanks. Chief Simons says the purchase of the items is possible because of the new half-cent sales tax in the city. The new equipment will allow firefighters to respond faster and safely to emergencies.
