The program's best ever season isn't over yet, but the 2nd seeded Pittsburg State women were knocked off in the first round of the MIAA Tournament Thursday by 7th seeded Lincoln, 83-77. The Gorillas' Lizzy Jeronimus scored 30 points but was overshadowed by a tournament record 39 points from the Blue Tigers' Arriana Walker.

Walker's total stat line was other-worldly, contributing 7 rebounds, 9 assists and 6 steals to go with those 39 big points. For Lane Lord and company, while the upset loss is somewhere between stunning and disappointing, the season is not over. Pitt State will advance to the South Regional tournament, kicking off Friday March 9, likely in Topeka. They'll find out for sure where, when, and against who they will play after the selection show Sunday night.
