OKLAHOMA--- The Oklahoma State Department of Health partners with 20 other organizations to improve birth outcomes. "Preparing for a lifetime, it's everyone's responsibility" is an initiative to prevent infant mortality in Oklahoma through multiple efforts. This includes promoting health education to pregnant women and new moms through the "Text-For-Baby" initiative.
It is a free text messaging service providing information on a broad range of topics critical to maternal and child health. The service has evolved to include interactive appointment reminders, educational videos, and urgent health alerts like product recalls. Since launching, more than 688,000 moms nationwide and nearly 14,000 Oklahoma moms have become a part of the service.
