MIAMI, OK.--- Ottawa County voters have just two decisions to make in a runoff election next week, including a U.S. Senate candidate and another for superintendent of public instruction. State law requires a majority of voters to back the winning candidate before he or she can move forward to the general election.
"It's only the Democrats voting this time. The Republicans got theirs all settled in the primary, so the Democrats are having to have a runoff," said Verna Ferris, Ottawa County Election Board Sec.
Early voting started today and runs through Saturday. Election day itself is Tuesday, August 26th. Polls are open from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.
