NEOSHO, MO.--- Camp Quality gives kids with cancer the chance to experience a summer camp. Camp Quality has 57 locations in 19 different countries. Camp organizers make sure the kids get a full camp experience through many activities.
"The motto for Camp Quality is "Letting Kids with Cancer Be Kids Again," said Teresa Adams, Camp Quality Trainer.
That's what 22 kids with cancer are experiencing this week at the 26th Annual Camp Quality.
"Week long camp in the summer time for kids who have cancer, we invite their siblings as well. We spend Sunday through Friday just filled with activities and games, and swimming and whatever we can think of just to have a good time," said Adams.
Each camper is paired up with a companion who is an adult volunteer. Campers say their companions have too much fun.
"You really shouldn't be that crazy at camp. And when Conway Band comes, she's going to yell and scream "I love you Waylond," said Bethany James, 4th Year Camper.
Bethany is using her situation to help others.
"I can know there is other people who have gone through the stuff I've gone through. And the siblings understand how my family has felt, how I feel," said Bethany.
Campers and companions say they feel like a family and can't wait to see each other again next year. For those who want to be a camper or volunteer as a companion, they can sign up online by clicking here.
