JOPLIN, MO.--- The Mustang Mother Road Weekend is dedicated to Mustang owners and enthusiasts. The three day event began yesterday, and continues through tomorrow. More than 60 Mustang owners brought their cars to tonight's show and shine contest on Main Street. Director of the Joplin Convention and Vistors Bureau Patrick Tuttle says all 10 generations of the Mustangs are here, and he feels Joplin is the perfect town for this event.
"This is a very positive car and truck town I should say. The Southwest Missori Stang Gang came up with the idea of getting together and celebrating it," said Patrick Tuttle, Director of Joplin Convention and Vistors Bureau.
"This is a good oportunity for people to come together who love the car and enjoy the car itself. To swap stories and just enjoy being a Mustang owner," said Mike Skelley, Mustang owner.
Tuttle says tomorrow there will be an auto-cross event at Missouri Southern State University starting at 10 a.m. There's also an event at the Mo-KAN Dragway on Highway 171 at 6 p.m.
