JOPLIN, MO.--- The Missouri Southern State University Search Committee will start evaluating applications for the university president position. The university has been receiving applications for the opening for a week and a half. Nine committee members have volunteered to evaluate all of the applications for the position. The university has developed a specific criteria that looks at items like education and management backgrounds. Board of Governors Member Dr. Sherry Buchanan says all committee members need to be on the same page when looking at all the applications.
"That's to give fair consideration to all applicants that come in and to give the university the best chance to see people through nine different sets of eyes," said Dr. Sherry Buchanan, Board of Governors Member.
Buchanan says the university has received 18 applications for the position so far.
