MSSU MASH Camp

Local junior high students get a chance to learn about the medical field at MASH Camp today.
JOPLIN, MO.--- More than 30 students ages 12 to 14 visited the Missouri Southern State University MASH. The students are interested in the health care profession and are thinking about studying at the college. Campers had a chance to practice items like looking at x-rays and learning how to draw blood. They also perform C.P.R. on a dummy.

"It's takes so much time to get your degree and it's a big investment, with money and studying and things like that. So you don't want to get invested in something and find out it's something that you don't' really want to do. So we try to get them in these camps so they can get their hands dirty, I guess you could say," said Lindsey Bobbitt, MASH Camp.

The two day camp costs $20. It continues on Thursday.
