Modoc Tribe Wants to Fix Damaged Roads

The Modoc Tribe of Oklahoma is asking the City of Miami for help to fix some damaged roads.
MIAMI, OK---This would improve the roads in and around the Stables Casino, from Steve Owens Blvd. to 7th Avenue and the three roads between G and H street.

At this week's council meeting, city leaders approved a letter for the tribe to use when applying for a grant. In the letter, if the tribe receives the grant, the city will give 30,000 dollars for a variety of services.

Miami City Engineer Chuck Childs, "The more we can in collaboration with others like the Tribe to try and fix up this, this gives us another avenue to help fix up the roads and partnership with them." Childs says since the Modoc tribe now has the support from the city, they will start the application process.
