Mobile Home Fire in Carl Junction

A mobile home in Carl Junction is burned down after it caught fire Saturday Morning.
CARL JUNCTION, MO---The Carl Junction Fire Department got a call around 10:30am for a smoke investigation off North Lone Elm Road near Eclipse Road. Carl Junction Fire Captain Lincoln Cooper says, when crews arrived on the scene, a mobile home, located down a dirt road surrounded by trees, was fully engulfed in flames. Cooper says the cause was from a burning brush pile that got out of control, and caught the home on fire. Fire fighters say no one was injured since the lot has been vacant for quite some time.

Cooper says when there is strong wind conditions, nobody should be burning outside. "In wind conditions like this, when they are this strong, you do need to call your fire department and let us kind of know so we have an idea. We have a lot of callers, I mean if you see black smoke, you're gonna call in thinking it's more than just a brush fire," says Cooper. The owner's of the lot are working to clean up the debris.
