Missouri Southern Health Event Promotes Student Well-Being

MSSU students were handed brochures about sexual abuse and what to do if they are ever in that situation.
JOPLIN, MO.--- Missouri Southern is bringing sexual assault awareness to campus. Today, students were handed brochures about sexual abuse and what to do if they are ever in that situation. Representatives say they do not tolerate it and neither should students. The Health Hut also promoted health and well being around campus. Students were given contraceptives, pads, and tampons promoting choices and options.

"We're just promoting awareness among the students. We just want them to be aware that there are different options that they can have that they don't have to make bad decisions, that there are consequences for bad decisions and that health is important not just now, but in the future," said Haley Patterson, Health Hut.

The students walked away informed and educated about health awareness.
