Missouri Man Sentenced for Two Attempted Bank Robberies

Daniel Lee Waddell has been sentenced to 17 years in federal prison in connection to two attempted bank robberies.
CARTHAGE, MO.--- A Missouri man has been sentenced to 17 years in federal prison in connection to two attempted bank robberies. Daniel Lee Waddell, 29, of Carthage plead guilty in the case. Waddell admitted he and co-defendant, Stephen Hudson, attempted to rob the Corner Stone Bank in Lanagan, Missouri in July of 2012. Bank tellers hit an alarm and Waddell fled the scene without any money.

Waddell and Hudson were taken into custody in March of last year after a second attempted bank robbery in Kincaid, Kansas. Both suspects were arrested after a short chase. In both robbery attempts, Waddell was armed with a Chinese Rifle. He told investigators he found the rifle while assisting with the Joplin tornado clean up. Stephen Hudson is still awaiting sentencing.
