JOPLIN, MO.--- Missouri lawmakers are tackling medical malpractice limits. House Bill 1173 would cap non-economic damages at no more than $350,000. That would not apply to lost wages or hospital bills. The issue comes on the heels of a similar effort in 2012, which was overturned by the Supreme Court. While House Bill 1173 has gotten first round approval in the House, the measure must pass another vote before it would move to the Senate.
