JOPLIN, MO.--- The organization is working with county boards, families, and individuals across the state to help improve the disability services. The goal of this effort is to be efficient, flexible, and a locally-based system. The Southwest Missouri workgroup is made up of representatives from the Joplin regional office and case management agencies in the region.
"These public meetings are setup to listen to the individuals and their families on their concerns on how we can best do that to meet their needs," said Jhan Hurn, Joplin Community Support Services.
Six public meetings will be held across the Southwest Missouri region, the first one being in Joplin on July 29th. It will take place at the Freeman Business Center from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. You can find a complete list of meeting dates and locations by clicking here.
