Missouri Changes Requirements for Higher Education Funding

There's a new way of funding higher education for Missouri citizens.
JOPLIN, MO.--- A new law requires state colleges and universities to set retention, graduation rates, and job placement standards for student. The majority of any increase in funding will be based on whether the school has met its own standards. Institutions that don't achieve their goals could get no funding increases. The state legislature, which budgets the schools money, can also rate the requirements. The new bill went into law Thursday, but facilities won't feel the effects until the next state budget is written.
