JOPLIN, MO.--- A Joplin attorney announces his candidacy to be a Jasper County Judge. Mike Roberts is throwing his name in the ring for the Division Four Associate Circuit Judge. Joe Schoeberl is retiring from the seat at the end of the year, leaving the position open. Roberts says his long association with law enforcement and the legal system would give him a unique perspective as a judge.
"I'm well rounded. I've been a police officer, I've been a prosecutor, I've been a defense attorney. I've been a witness and I've been the victim of a crime," said Mike Roberts, Jasper County Candidate.
Candidates can start filing for office on February 25th. The primary will be held in August, with the general election this November.
