MIAMI, OK.--- The Peoria Tribe and the City of Miami have started the process of running a new sewer line. Starting from the Peoria Ridge Golf Course, the sewer line will run two and a half miles into the cities lift station. Residents living in the area will now have the option of using the city sewer services instead of a septic system.
"If you're on the cities system, city maintains those controls, those lift stations, pump stations. Basically, you just have to watch your water go down the drain," said John Froman, Chief of the Oklahoma Peoria Tribe.
The new sewer system is expected to be complete sometime in the early fall.
