Miami Names Interim City Manager

Miami's deputy city clerk will be taking over as an interim city manager once Jeff Bishop leaves his position at the end of this month.
MIAMI, OK.--- Jill Fitzgibbon currently serves as deputy city clerk and assistant city manager. Jeff Bishop has taken a position as executive director of the Port of Moses Lake in Moses Lake, Washington and is leaving before the end of the month. His last day in office as Miami's city manager is August 21st. Bishop has served as Miami's city manager since 2012.
 
He turned in his resignation in May, saying he would stay until the end of the year unless he got another opportunity before then. Miami city leaders have hired the Firm Strategic Government Resources to help find a new city manager. The group has already received more than a dozen applications. City leaders estimate a new city manager will be hired sometime in the next four months.
