Long Term Meth Investigation Lands Another Person Behind Bars

Cherokee County sheriff deputies arrested Cynthia Evans of Columbus on Tuesday for alleged conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine.
COLUMBUS, KS.--- A long term meth investigation lands another person behind bars. Cherokee County sheriff's deputies arrested Cynthia Evans, 19, of Columbus yesterday for alleged conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine.

The arrest is in connection to an investigation of alleged meth manufacturing in Baxter Springs, and has already resulted in 5 other arrests since July 1st. Sheriff David Groves says this investigation is helping put a big dent in meth cooking in Cherokee County.

"Taking those folks off the street will certainly dampen the meth manufacturing trade in that area," said David Groves, Cherokee County Sheriff.

Groves says the investigation is ongoing, and more arrests are likely to be made.
