JOPLIN, MO.--- Life of Hope Ministries is celebrating 10 years of making a difference in Guatemala. The local nonprofit orgnaization held an open house at their new location at 14th and Joplin. They are celebrating 10 years of growth while raising funds for communities in Guatemala. The goal has been set at $47,000. The money raised will be used for the installation of a water system, a community center, and to expand a medical clinic in Guatemala.
"To see those children be rescued from the streets. To be able to be given a chance, and to be delivered from poverty and so many things in life that are very unfortunate for them. And that's one of the things Life of Hope does every time we work with a partner in the field," said Nancy Hutson, Director of Advancement.
The group travels to Guatemala several times a year to work on projects. We've posted more information about the organization, click here.
