Leggett and Platt Environmental Sustainability Program

Leggett and Platt employees are doing their part to help the environment.
CARTHAGE, MO.--- Staff members are participating in the company's environmental sustainability program called the "Eco Initiative." The goal is to get all employees involved and collect their input on energy efficient projects to incorporate within the company. Recently, Leggett and Platt started the initiative at Branch 79, one of the factories in Carthage. The corporate office kicked off their initiative in the spring. Since then, staff have started a recyclable cup program among other things.

"It shows the community that we're not just worried about manufacturing and profits. That we are worried about the environment. We're concerned about future generations," said Theresa Block,  Director of Cooperate Environmental Affairs.

The Eco Initiative is implemented in 50 branches right now. With more than 7,000 employees.
